Wi-Tribe has recently (not sure exactly when) upgraded all the speed limtes of all of their broadband plans, including the top Plan 1998 from 2Mbps to 4Mbps. These Wi-Tribe plans come in both the 4G USB sticks or the WiFi modem for fixed-wireless kit (I'm more interested in the fixed-wireless like that of Smart Bro). Also, Wi-Tribe claims the plans have unlimited bandwidth as long as it's within their Fair Usage Policy (which states one or 2 movie downloads a week is fair enough). New telco player, Wi-Tribe, has finally addressed their bandwidth strategy by offering some sort of pay-per-use. I know that the Philippines has one of the most expensive rates in terms of bandwidth but Php200 per GB seems very high. Had a talk over the phone with one of Wi-Tribe's representatives last Saturday and we discussed about the 3GB monthly bandwidth allocation which we reported last month. They've added that since Wi-Tribe is still in its "soft launch" stage, they're still figuring out a better way to provide a more, should I say, equitable and socialized internet service.
