#YouTube Premium Family Plan

Should your account be paused, you will still be in the family member’s subscription, but with no Premium benefits. Affected users will need to subscribe individually to continue using YouTube Premium. For reference, YouTube Premium offers an ad-free viewing experience, background play, offline downloads, and access to YouTube Music. The Family Plan allows up to five additional members but is now strictly limited to those living in the same household. New features for YouTube Premium Lite include the ability to play videos in the background and download most of them for offline viewing. The plan, relaunched in March 2025, previously focused on offering “most videos” ad-free but lacked the extra perks found in the full Premium tier.
