Asus EeePC Design Contest Winners Announced

Asus Philippines has just announced the winners of the Asus Dress mEee Up! Design Contest. There were over 500 entries and close to 80,000 votes were sent in.

Contest entries No. 410, 374 and 220 won the top 3 prize. Contest puts 80% of the scores from public voting while 20% are by judges. See winning designs below:

All 3 winners only got between 3,000 to 10,000 votes while 6 other non-winners got between 17,000 to 78,000 votes. That 20% score from judges must have made a huge difference in the turn-out.

As indicated by Asus, all three designs will be released to the Philippine market on a limited edition. Price and release dates TBA.

  1. Anyone here using Globe Innove. My connection just slowed down from 1.5 to 1.8 Mbps to less than 500 kbps. Called up Globe yesterday and they said they’d address the problem. Still the same.

  2. How I wish Gail had joined the contest. Her designs absolutely rock! :-)

  3. Not a fan of the designs, but congrats to the winners! :)

  4. The office designers were complaining over the designs. LOL. Bunch of critics!

  5. Wtf? Did the judges miss elementary mathematics?

    This is a no-brainer!

    For example:

    Entry X got 78,000 votes (78 x 0.80 or 80% = 62.4) + a score of 11 from the judges (11 x 0.20 or 20% = 2.2) equals 64.6

    Entry Y got 10,000 votes (10 x 0.80 or 80% = 8) + a score of 100 from the judges (100 x 0.20 or 20% = 20) equals 28

Statistically, it is impossible for those entries with just 3,000 – 10,000 votes to win!

  6. In my opinion, entry no. 280 should have won. Those other entries didn’t even follow the mechanics (format, size, etc)

  7. Wow! those designs are amazing..cool.

    Congratulations to the winners!

  8. Good desighn hand full and like by every body.I like very much.
