Garmin outs vivomove activity tracker w/ 1-year battery life

Smartwatches these days can do different things but most of them still needs to be charged after a few days or during the weekends. Garmin is offering the vivomove activity tracker with an elegant analog face and a battery life that should last you one whole year.

The vivomove comes with fitness-tracking features that record workouts, sleep patterns, and more. Unlike normal activity watches, the vivomove doesn’t have a touch-sensitive display that you could swipe to see how many steps you did. Rather, it has two indicator bars on its face: the left is the Black Move Bar that counts steps while the Red Move Bar reminds you to move when you’re inactive for too long.

Additional features include a battery (replaceable CR2025 coin cell) that the company claims to last an entire year, a water rating of 5ATM (50 meters), and interchangeable bands.

Speaking of bands, there will be Sport, Classic, and Premium variants once it becomes available, but it seems like the bands are the only thing that sets them apart. The Sport band would allow for active usage, Classic will have leather bands, and Premium models will either have stainless steel or gold casing partnered with a brown leather band.

Sport is priced at $149.99, Classic will be at $199.99, and the Premium model will be sold for $299.99.

The vivomove is not yet for sale but you can check them out at Garmin’s page for more details.
