Nintendo Wii U announced!

It’s a remote, it’s a controller, it’s a game pad — Nintendo unveils their next video game console, the Wii U. Check this video to see what Nintendo revealed for the upcoming Wii 2/Project Cafe over at E3 2011.

You just have to see this video trailer.

The Nintendo Wii U comes with this controller with a 6.2-inch built-in display and the console (feels like the old Nunchuck and Wii Controller just got bigger and now comes with a screen).

Now this is something to look forward too.

  1. they should have make the screen at least 10in, and make the control touch screen,

    • It supports touch and even a stylus (from the video at least)

    • tablet po ang hanap mo :-)

  2. expect a plethora of Mario and Zelda games.. *sigh* wala na bang iba???

    • Tekken
      Assasin’s Creed
      Ninja Gaiden 3
and what is so bad with Zelda?

  3. Expect the Wii U successor to be called Wii U Them.

Seriously, it seems like the days of portables being a separate genre wil be gone in the next 5 years. The Wii U s almost a handheld and if they could especially integrate the CPU and some RAM into the tablet, they could ditch the console.

Apple could obliterate this if they are wise enough to release a peripheral that plug into the ipad and analog and digital controls. Fling doesn’t count as it covers part of the screen. Android tablet could use wireless controllers but then, the screen has to be docked somewhere as your hands are occupied by the controller.

  4. You guys havent read what games it comes when it releases do you….

  5. Can’t help but remember about Dreamcast’s VMU.

  6. Hope that third party developers would be interested enough to publish good games in this console… Else, it will be a complete failure…

The new controller is something that could attract a lot of attention though…
