Instagram to rearrange feed based on posts you care about

You might soon experience a new way of seeing your feed on Instagram in the coming months as the company announced that it will soon be ordered to show posts that you care about the most.

The idea is similar to what Facebook did to its Timeline – showing Top Stories instead of chronological order. In the case of Instagram, it will utilize algorithms to organize your feed so that photos and videos will show “based on the likelihood you’ll be interested in the content, your relationship with the person posting and the timeliness of the post.”

Instagram said that “people miss on average 70 percent of their feeds” and that “it’s become harder to keep up with all the photos and videos people share.” This coincides with reports that Instagram’s interaction rate was down by almost 40% in 2015. With that said, the change in feed order might be the solution to the comany’s plight.
