I didn’t think Apple will take it sitting down when Microsoft went out with the Laptop Hunter series of ads (see here and here). Here’s a new commercial Apple made just to for that.
“PC tries to match Megan with a PC, but, alas, Megan wants something “that works without crashing, or viruses, or a ton of headaches,” so she ends up with a Mac.”

simple ads.. yet brings the message clearly.
honestly, i will always be an anti-mac! Macs are over-rated. Just wait when Macs get clogged up – I’m pretty sure viruses, crashes and all kinds of nonsensical things will also start to happen!
Apple is still and will always elude the PRICE issue.
A Mac’s price does not justify its claims of being “better” than PCs.
The ads never fail to amuse me.
you guys are right, but I really think these series of CFs are indeed funny~~~
There is no such thing as a virus-free system, even more so a non-crashing system. Each computer platform have their own pros and cons. It is up to the user to weigh these factors in choosing the best computer suited to his/her needs. BTW, mac ads are highly-overrated in my opinion.
@jpeb
another good point there!
duh! get a licensed windows and anti-virus
Seriously, Those ads are really getting old. not even amusing anymore. I started learning with macs and use em till now. I respect both types of machines. but there is no way in hell macs are better in terms of value. A equivalently if not lower priced PC Desktop or Notebook can kick the hell out of a fully loaded mac any day. PC’s might have hurdles and challenges but it will make you a better techie and will force you to know more about you machine than just being a passive user.
Macs are a result of first: a creative mind.. and lastly: a very good MARKETING strategy. Being able to alleviate itself by associating ideas that “this is better”, “this is elite”, “this is special” etc etc. There are tons of marketing geniuses who are responsible for this “hyped machine” than hardware/software engineers doing their thing.
Apple didn’t make a significant dent on Windows market share after 3 years of Vista. I think they should worry about Windows 7.
i <3 Mac. Have my Macbook for years already, never failed me once. never crashed ever since. it was worth the money.
That’s the ad?! That’s the same old ‘Mac vs. PC’ I’ve been seeing for years already. The Laptop Hunters commercials are better than this.
macs doesnt crash and has no viruses?
LMAO!!!
“PC’s might have hurdles and challenges but it will make you a better techie and will force you to know more about you machine than just being a passive user.”
well said brother
my only problem with Macs are the price, they’re so expensive!
Those who hates Mac just can’t afford to buy one. It’s better than PC. Period.
macs are not better than pc. if you spend the money you spent in buying a mac, your system will be a monster. and there is no way a mac can match a full pledge gaming pc. there is no gaming macs. mac can only be better if you dont know how to operate a pc and if you only know how to use your gadgets out of the box.
@Reel Advice
Asa ka. pag nag ka virus na ang linux dun pa lang maaring mag ka virus ang mac. BSD based ang mac, even more hardcore sa linux.
Macs and PCs both have their share of strengths and weaknesses. It’s about the user. Most of the time, the data tragedies that happen are due to user error. And as humans are wont to do, we blame the machine, not ourselves.
like Chris Pirillo said, every OS sucks.
When Apple starts selling notebooks for $700 – $800, they wouldn’t need ads like this
kung concern nyo crashes and viruses, mag linux na lang na lang kayo wala pang bayad, pwede pang e-install kahit mac or pc machines…kung games naman gusto nyo, you go for pc…kung gusto mo branded and willing ka mag spend much extra money na walang viruses go for mac…bottom line, tama si havagut, it’s all about the user.
