Tuesday’s Wrap

Every Tuesday, I’ll be posting tons of links from people sending in emails and requests. These are the ones that didn’t quite make it to my regular posting schedules but nonetheless deserve some TLC (tender linking care).

  • Gail & Connie launches the Pinoy Pet Network.
  • FredytheFilipino emailed asking if I could feature his “Taco Bell” video on YouTube. Other Pinoy blogs have featured him but he thinks says they’re not that popular. Now, now Fredy, that’s no way to treat a fellow blogger giving you links.
  • The blog is mightier than the sword, goofing around with plastic swords at the Inquirer.net office last Friday before the interview.
  • You want more pictures of the Pinoy Bloggers’ Galera Getaway? Check this one out with Marc doing the yoga by the beach. Gandhi is alive!
  • Firm develops multimedia ads for the mobile phone. More text spam? No way!
  • Retz emailed me with a picture of him and his 6-figure cheque (ala-Shoemoney huh?). The real surprise was that it did NOT came from Adsense! Yes, there is life without Google Adsense after all.
  • Joey Alarilla emails asking for opinion if ABC5 and GMA 7 marauding the Inquirer.net office is unethical by media standards. I know exclusivity and privacy are things MSM value the most, but in the realms of the blogosphere it’s the other way around (i.e., the more bloggers linking to you and covering your story, the better).
  • Minic has officially launched The Pinoy.TV, an online video festival for the Filipino.

I will add more later as I’m digging up old emails I haven’t checked nor replied to.

    Seeing TV reporters waiting for scraps from a YouTube interview gives me a certain vengeful satisfaction. :)

    hi abe, thanks for the link to my blog entry :)

    true, in the blogosphere the more bloggers link to you and cover your story, the better. but when you hold your own events, such as the blog parteeh, you can’t invite everyone. some events are open to the public. some are by-invitation only.

    to echo mike, it’s kind of funny that tv reporters are waiting for scraps. what, they can’t get their own appointments with the candidates? and if so, is it because these candidates would rather guest on our podcasts? :)

    —I really really appreciate your being level headed and open minded, Abe. Peace on earth and the blogosphere, too! :-)

    @Jove

    oh, why, were your reporter and camera crew bloggers? and a different set of rules should apply to them? and for the record, bloggers don’t just barge in — they have more delicadeza.

    i still don’t get why these tv reporters couldn’t set an appointment with the candidate and interview him elsewhere. it’s not like we would have to go to the abc 5 or gma 7 stations and camp there just to interview candidates for our podcasts.

    And GMA’s Malou Mangahas has the gall to be pissed. Apparently, dinosaurs don’t die quietly.
