Two new desktop softwares developed via Adobe Air got me interested lately. Check out Google Analytics Air and Air Press below.
Both clients run on Adobe Air which is a cross-operating system runtime that allows web application developers to use their existing web development skills (HTML, Javascript, Adobe Flash®, Adobe Flex™, Ajax) to build and deploy rich Internet applications to the desktop. Google Analytics Air is a Google Analytics Reporting suite that takes Google Analytics to your desktop so you don’t have to login to a web browser to check your stats.
With the Google Analytics Suite, you can manage multiple profiles and import them so you don’t need to login every time you check your stats. Download a copy of it here.
Another app is AirPress which is a desktop blogging client much like Ecto or Windows Live Writer.
The app allows you to import multiple blogs into the client, view/edit them or post new entries. Found several bugs while doing this post there so it may take a while before this one is truly fully functional. It’s a promising tool though. You can get a copy of it here.

I wonder why Adobe repackaged Apollo in to AIR. It’s uses (or allows use of) Flash, Flex, HTML and Ajax for Rich Internet Apps. I’ll try this out after my tenure with Microsoft’s Silverlight
Yep. Adobe AIR is great. Been using AIR apps for a long time.
Have you tried AIR Talkr? Still have bugs, but it’s lightweight and faster than its multi-IM counterparts.
Im now choosing between Air Talkr vs Trillian Astra
hmm I’m currently using Trillian and it does bog down a bit and support for the features of other IMs suck (like file transfer w/c works only w/ Trillian to Trillian convos). Might as well try Talkr, any links?
Apollo was just the codename. The new name - Adobe Integrated Runtime - just shows their ambition that this will be THE cross-platform platform (redundant huh)

The bugs are, hmm, in my opinion few, its just that, there are certain bugs that are annoying :p
Wait for Trillia Astra and see. I’m still holding my decision till I test the final versions of both Trillia Astra and Air Talkr.
oh.. both beta, guess I’ll go test it for awhile… For now though I’ll stick to Trillian on my MS box and Pidgin for my Linux box then
