Couldn’t believe someone would copy my blog just like that. Yeah, I did use the winning connections theme from Alex King’s WP Theme competition, but I certainly did a lot of personal customizations to it — the random headers, the css, the navigation boxes and some more tweaks here and there.
Anyone can use the connections theme since it’s free for all. What irks me is that one would go as far as copying my design customizations and not even asking me about it. (It’s a minor thing actually, but big things come from small beginnings. )The culprit knows what I mean; he even reads this blog and lifts an entry or two.
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flaterry, but in this case I highly doubt that.

Maybe the guy needs attention. Poor him. I don’t know if he is the guy I have in mind (to confirm, I have to search for your lifted post first unless he already deleted it).
But I pity the guy for lack of originality and creativity, and as I said, maybe attention. He does not want to climb up the ladder, but instead fly on top of it by using someone;s copter (weee that rhymes hehehe).

Were the post entries paraphrased or lifted as is?
It’s the small things that gave it away actually. Some of the usual graphic elements here were made by me from scratch, so if someone copied those graphic elements and use it on their site, it would be really obvious.
The owner was quick to respond to this entry and by this time has already changed the color elements of the WP theme. The paraphrased entry was also deleted confirming that the idea was indeed lifted from my blog. And not a single link back to me?
That in a sense has confirmed my allegations about this so-called web desginer. In any case, at least he got the message quite fast.

i had a clear idea that it wasnt me. i idolized yuga when comes to blogging. yeah. and ask a permission to use the same theme for my wp. then i turn back to ASP.

At least they could have made justice to the “rip-off” by doing it right and making it worthy of a design. Damn, I can’t imagine how the hell they’d end up calling themselves designers and netrepreneurs. It’s not good for the one’s business if the very owners are known to be rippers.
