Photonic Disruptor from Wicked Lasers

The guys from Wicked Lasers sent over one of their newest laser gadgets — the 100mW Photonic Disruptor. This is the second set of laser we got after that 125mW Executive Series from last year.

Unlike the previous one, the Photonic Disruptor is a water-proof high-powered green laser that’s designed for a more rugged and harsh environment. As such, the body (including the on/off button) is fully covered with a rubber-like skin.

The laser focus can be adjusted from 1.5mm to 7.5mm radius with the wider unfocused beam less intense and has shorter range. If you’ve watched Future Weapons on Discovery Channel, this laser has been featured/used in one of their episodes (see video here).

The Photonic Disruptor uses 2 AAA batteries that only lasts just over an hour and retails for $599.99 (designed for military and law enforcement use only).

    From Wikipedia…
    XADS makes the Photonic Disruptor Series [1]. It is called a Threat Assessment Laser Illuminator (TALI); but it can cause night-blindness and secondary effects such as nausea; it is claimed to leave no permanent eye damage.

    @Mike

    It was designed for SWAT and military use in nonlethal takedowns. The adjustable-focus green ray will do permanent retinal damage to anyone within about 60 feet, visually disorients people up to 1,150 feet away, and illuminates objects almost 2 miles out.

    Once watched CSI Miami which featured that type of laser to bring down a plane (blinded the pilot from the the ground)
