Internet Penetration in the Philippines

Relevance: 92%      Posted on: April 22, 2007

According to a friend of mine, ACNielsen doesn't have any relevant internet-usage research studies in the Philippines. This is the same topic I brought up during the iBlog3 -- no extensive public study has been made in recent years about internet penetration and online usage behavior in the country. So, when the issue of Internet Usage in the Philippines was tackled, everyone had their own numbers to throw out. Some would say 20% while others maintain the slow growth rate of 12%. While digging a little deeper into this topic, I found several statistics and research studies from the Internet

In the line-up is the flagship model which is the Sony Bravia HX855 which uses the X-Reality Pro technology. To illustrate how much improvement the dual-chip processor to show more detail and color is displayed, Sony brought in two LED TVs from its closest competitors to give us a live demo of the difference in the display. Audit your Disk Usage with WinDirStat

So I had my Asus Eee PC migrated to Windows XP by a friend the other night so I can include some of my favorite Win tools in it. Since the Eee PC only had 4GB of SSD space in it, I was careful in adding too many unnecessary and bloated applications. Total disk usage was around 1.3GB after fresh installation so the remaining 2.7+ or so gigabytes of space is still enough. However, after a reboot, I found out I only had 800MB space left. I don't know where the other 1.9GB went. I manually audited each folder and…

This represents only 5% increase per quarter which shows…

Dissecting the Filipino LiveJournal usage

Relevance: 70%      Posted on: July 17, 2006

My last post about blog usage popularity drew some reactions that LiveJournal might be under-represented in Pinoy Top Blogs. If that's the case, let me venture into some of the reasons why: Despite the relative popularity of Pinoy Top Blogs, LJ users are not familiar with it as much as Blogger users because LJ blogs do not allow code insertions in theri templates. This could be the reason why only 3% of the registered members of Pinoy Top Blogs are using LJ. Still they did sign up after the fact. Most LJ users want exclusivity -- they prefer only friends…
