Redesigned ASUS FonePad 7 lands, priced at Php5,995

Listen to article

ASUS Philippines has brought the new and improved FonePad 7 FE170CG over to our side of the fence and they’re banking on its respectable feature set and more affordable price tag to win over the budget-conscious Filipino consumers.

Apart from the subtle changes that the company made on the tablet’s design, the new FonePad 7 is also significantly lighter and thinner than the previous model.

However, in exchange for its leaner body and more wallet-friendly price, ASUS had to cut back on some of its feature like its internal storage (from 8GB to 4GB), camera (from 5MP to 2MP) and screen resolution (from WXGA to WSVGA). Luckily most of the things we liked about its predecessor are still present on this new model.

ASUS Fonepad 7 (FE170CG) specs:
7.0-inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) LCD, 170ppi
1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2520 dual-core CPU
PowerVR SGX544MP2 GPU
1GB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 64GB via microSD
2MP rear camera, f/2.8
0.3MP front-facing, f/2.8
dual-SIM (micro), dual-standby
HSPA+, 3G, 2G
WiFi 802.11b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0
GPS, GLONASS & AGPS
Android Jellybean 4.3 (upgradable to Android 4.4 Kitkat)
3,950mAh battery
192 x 110 x 10.7 mm
290g

The new ASUS FonePad 7 FE170CG is now available in the country is currently being retailed for Php5,995.

I have this tablet. Maganda sya. Pwedeng i store yong ibang apps sa external card. So far wala akong masasabing pangit sa fonepad na to. If you are looking for affordable but branded tablet ito yon. Main advantage nya, powered by Intel Atom.
