I was shopping around for a Macbook Pro on the Apple Store yesterday when I tried configuring some custom upgrades of an entry-level 13″ MacPro.
When I started bumping the DDR3 RAM from 2GB to 8GB, I could not believe what I saw. The upgrade is almost as expensive as a new MacPro — at Php59,300.
I guess DDR3 RAMs aren’t that cheap as I thought they would be.
Owning an 8-gig memory is impractical anyway, 4GBs is already more than enough for anything. It’s just a marketing fad to rip people off from their hard-earned money.
Can anybody provide local suppliers?
8Gb (4Gb x 2 DDR3 1066 SODIMM) upgrade kit for SOny Vaio VPCCW26FG from www.crucial.com costs P25,000 online…
mukhang di po typo, sa US website ng Apple, $1100 yung 8GB upgrade, w/c is roughly P50k+.
thats the dumbest thing ever!!! people who buy this should be shot, 1K for ram… WOW im glad im a PC :D
sorry naman. oo magaling ka na…
You Noobs! Everyone knows you don’t buy RAM from Apple Store. All Mac user knows that its overpriced. Old news.
Apple also makes it easy for even novice users to upgrade notebook RAM. Its included in every user manual.
mahal talaga apple. Parang earphone, mas mura pa bumili ng ipod kasi may earphone kesa sa earphone alone. hehe :D
Thats pretty expensive.
4gb is enough if its DDR3.
If what you worry is Multitasking, You can run more than 5 to 10 application but use can use only 2 or 3 apps. like playing music while typing.
Memory fabs cost Billions, so early adopters pay for them.
yikes, who in their right mind will buy that upgrade? wait for DD3 to go mainstream muna siguro.
its better to just buy the main unit and just have the upgrade somewhere else coz upgrade on apple website to to pricely and beside upgrading the ram and hardrive will not void the factory warranty
I don’t think it’s a typo. The US Apple Store sells the 8GB (2x4GB) upgrade for $1,100.
A single stick of 8GB DDR3 RAM costs about $499 on 3rd party online stores.
Dati pa 59k ang price nyan.
