Morris Garages launches MG GT sedan in PH

British automotive maker Morris Garages brings to the Philippines its mid-range sedan, the MG GT, at its recently-opened showroom at Greenhills EDSA. It boasts a first-ever power assembly manufactured by Chinese company SAIC Motor that’s capable of going as fast as 9.5 seconds from 0-100km/h.

1.4L/1.5L SGE 1.4TGI with SAIC CUBE-TECH power assembly
TST 7-speed dual clutch transmission
Start-stop intelligent energy-saving system
Electric Power System (EPS)
Front MacPherson strut and rear H-shaped torsion beam suspensions
Front and rear disc brake
16-inch alloy wheels
Vehicle Stability Control
Traction Control System
Hill-start Assist System

One of the highlights of this sedan is its adoption of a high-standard pedestrian protection system. The car was said to be equipped with engine hood cross-section buffer structure, strengthened front-end bumper, and lifted engine hood that should minimize the pedestrian’s injuries on vehicle collisions.

According to Wang Xiaoqiu, VP of SAIC Motor, the MG GT is a mid-range masterpiece from a pool of visionaries with a whole new design, powertrain, and intelligent technology that can meet the demands of their target market (which they said are the young consumers).

The MG GT starts at Php895,000 and is available for viewing and pre-order.

The only British thing about this car is its MG brand. Everything else is Chinese.
