Yahoo buys MyBlogLog

Listen to article

According to their blog it’s now official — Yahoo has just acquired the social media company:

MyBlogLog is becoming a part of Yahoo! We’re all moving to San Francisco. We officially bleed Purple and Yellow (although unofficially, I’ll always bleed Orange and Blue – Go Gators! National champions in basketball AND football, yo!).

Yahoo! is going to put loads of resources into MyBlogLog and help us roll out a ton of new features. Plus, we’re moving to their infrastructure, which should help with those occasional slowdowns.

Sale amount wasn’t disclosed by speculations peg the figures between $10 to $12 Million.

There were plans to integrate Yahoo’s massive network and subscriber base into MyBlogLog so are we expecting YM users/contacts being part of our MyBlogLog community?

Google already has Blogspot. Yahoo has no blog network besides its corporate/developer blogs, and 360.

It seems Yahoo is way ahead in the Web2.0 direction compared with Google which relies more on technology.

Maybe it’s their take two at building a social network, since 360 isn’t successful.

Wonder if Google would follow suit and buy something similar to MyBlogLog? ;)

The monopolies are once more increasing in the web. Yikes!
