Globe Prepaid upgrade from physical SIM to eSIM now available

Listen to article

Erratum: Globe PR sent a correction about the availability of their SIM to eSIM service. It turns out the service is NOT yet available but will soon be rolled out.

The correct information should be: Globe is set to launch a new service allowing Globe Prepaid customers to upgrade from a physical SIM to eSIM and retain their current number. Attached is the updated version.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and would be incredibly grateful if you could help us update the release on your platform. Your support in ensuring the accuracy of the information is deeply appreciated.

Globe Prepaid users are now able to upgrade their physical SIM card to an eSIM. Their current number will still retain.

“This new offer is part of our drive for wider adoption of eSIM. We’re not just keeping up with the digital needs of our customers, we’re propelling them into the future of connectivity,” says Givielle Florida, Head of Globe Prepaid.

The eSIM upgrade is available for Globe Prepaid customers via the GlobeOne app, which features an eSIM-compatibility check to ensure users’ devices are ready for the upgrade. The upgrade costs PHP 99.00.

To upgrade your physical SIM to an eSIM, simply go to the GlobeOne app, click on SIM Hub > Change SIM > eSIM and follow the on-screen instructions on your device. Simply install the eSIM by scanning the QR code from your email and your new eSIM with the same mobile number will be ready.

This follows the successful introduction of eSIMs for Globe Prepaid subscribers earlier this year, creating an end-to-end digital experience for its customers.

Download the GlobeOne app today and navigate to the SIM Hub to upgrade your connectivity.

It’s not working. I have been trying for more than a week now using their GlobeOne app. The app is updated. They are not sending an OTP to continue with the process. Globe is such a bullshit company. Even their support is filled with stupid AI shit.

Actually wala naman mali sa original post. Globe announced it a few weeks ago through the nation’s biggest media comalnies that converting Globe prepaid physical sim to eSim is already available.

Getting a new prepaid esim is available though. But i dont need a new esim, i need to convert my existing sim with the same number. Waiting for it to happen.

May mali yung mong napublish na one-time use ang esim. I actually spent 99php to test it out, and it turns out, it’s not a one-time use. i can install, uninstall and reinstall it. i can even move it from my samsung to iphone, and vice versa. Hirap naman pag one-time use lang, eh di forever na sya sa phone mo, pano kung nagpalit ka ng phone?

One other thing na di ko mahanap sa official site ng globe is yung reissuance ng qr code. Kasi you need to uninstall it before you can install it again to a different phone. What if namatay at ayaw na mag on ng phone mo, or nanakaw, or nawala. Hindi mo na sya marereinstall since hindi mo pa sya nauninstall sa lumang phone. This needs to be addressed by globe kasi what if dun naka link ang mga OTP mo sa mga banking apps mo..

Doesnt work. My number is an ancient globe tattoo number. My globe one account is from GOMO since you cant create account on globe one using tattoo numbers and myFi numbers. Yet i wanna convert my ancient tatto number into esim it says this number is not the primary number of your profile and the button was grayed out..
