Samsung puts flagship chipset in upcoming midrange phone

Listen to article

When you’re looking for a midrange device with a focus on gaming capability, Samsung is often not the top-of-mind option. The Korean tech giant is known for crafting well-rounded devices at nearly every price point, compensating for middling hardware choices with software optimization.

That might not be the case with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M67.

Both the Samsung M and A-series serve as more affordable alternatives to the flagship S-line (as well as the Z foldables). According to rumors, this incoming Galaxy M67 willl serve as the pinnacle of the M family – which is perhaps the reason why Samsung outfitted it with the Exynos 2200.

For those of you who have forgotten, that is the processor built-in the flagship Samsung Galaxy S22 line from 2022. Despite its age, its installed Xclipse 920 GPU supports ray tracing and should be a powerful gaming companion. The 1+3+4 setup should achieve its maximum 2.8GHz with ease, breezing through day-to-day tasks with no difficulty.

Here is the Geekbench listing revealing the stat sheet.

Even by 2026 standards, the Exynos 2200 beats out midrange chipsets found in most midrange competitors. Whether its gaming, 8K video recording, and day-to-day tasks, it’s no slouch. The only metric we’re unsure of is efficiency – due to older architecture.
