The Recording Academy hosts the annual Grammy Awards to recognize exceptional achievements within the music industry. Now they have added a new category for its awarding this 2023, the “Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games And Other Interactive Media”.
The new award will recognize “excellence in score soundtrack albums comprised predominately of original scores and created specifically for, or as a companion to, a current videogame or other interactive media released within the qualification period”.
On top of the best video game soundtrack, they have also added five other awards namely Songwriter of the Year (Non-Classical), Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Americana Performance, Best Spoken Word Poet, and Best Song for Social Change.
