LG has joined the foldable frenzy with its introduction of the LG gram Fold. This new laptop boasts a 17-inch foldable OLED display reminiscent of other notable foldable laptops like the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold and HP Spectre Fold.

When unfolded, the foldable laptop showcases a spacious 17-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,920 and a 4:3 aspect ratio.
Folding it transforms the display into a compact 12-inch tablet. To enhance the user experience, LG offers a virtual keyboard on the lower half of the screen. But users can also opt for a more traditional laptop setup by using a Bluetooth keyboard.
Designed with portability in mind, it weighs only 1,250 grams without the keyboard and 1,530 grams with it.
Despite its lightweight construction, it doesn’t compromise on performance.
Under the hood, it equips the 13th Gen Intel Core i5-1335U processor, paired with an Intel Iris Xe graphics card.
Other key specs include 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a 512GB NVMe SSD, and a 72Wh battery with 65W charging capability.
Additionally, it offers three stereo speakers, Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi 6E, and two USB-C ports for versatile connectivity options.
In terms of durability, the LG gram Fold has undergone rigorous testing on its “hinge area,” which can withstand up to 30,000 folds.
While this may appear modest when compared to foldable phones, it equates to approximately 20 folds per day over a span of four years, showcasing its exceptional resilience for everyday laptop usage.
Price and availability
According to Android Authority, LG will make the gram Fold available in limited quantities in its home market in Korea. No word yet on its availability to other markets.
The LG gram Fold is priced at KRW 4.99 million, which is about PHP 210,000 in today’s (direct) exchange rate. And for the first 200 customers, there is a promotional price of KRW 3.99 million (~PHP 168,000).
For reference, the ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold had a launch price of PHP 219,995 in the Philippines.
