Huawei’s HarmonyOS NEXT might be coming soon, featuring over 4,000 native apps on their platform.

HarmonyOS NEXT is an improved version of Huawei’s HarmonyOS, tailored specifically for user experience. This big software update, however, will not feature Android apps at all.
Introduced in 2023, HarmonyOS NEXT was a playfield for developers to build and test native mobile apps for a solid app ecosystem. The main distinction it had from HarmonyOS itself was that it can’t open Android APKs.
But now, Huawei is going all in on their software and app library, now with over 4,000 developers at work. But for more developments to this story, we’ll be keeping an eye out for the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) in 2024.
Huawei’s end goal is to integrate HarmonyOS NEXT as its official ‘HarmonyOS’ for their devices and third-party platforms. But while waiting for the big reveal, we’re excited to see if HarmonyOS NEXT (even in beta) can be a game changer for mobile software.
But what do you guys think, are you looking forward to Huawei’s HarmonyOS NEXT? Let us know in the comment section below!
