QC launches online registration of QCitizen ID for its residents

Listen to article

The local government of Quezon City has recently announced the online registration for its QCitizen ID that allows residents of the city to access various services, including the Quezon City Bus, health, and other social services.

UPDATE: As of 5:51 PM of January 7, 2021, the link for the QCitizen ID application is currently having a server upgrade to accommodate more applicants. Kindly refresh the website by 8 PM and try to register again.

As shared by City Administrator Mike Alimurung, the QCitizen ID is a unified ID system for all residents that aims to also replace the existing senior citizen, solo parent, and persons with disability (PWD) ID over time. However, existing IDs will continue to be valid in the interim. It also ensures that various services are allocated to all residents and determines the priority list for the city’s COVID-19 vaccination program.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte also clarified that the prioritization for the vaccination will be based according to the sector which mostly needed it.

“The registration will give importance to those who are on the priority list for the COVID-19 vaccine – senior citizens, PWDs, and frontliners,” said Belmonte.

Those who are interested to apply for the QCitizen ID must create an account first on the city government’s E-Services portal.

Those without internet access may wait for the in-person, on-the-ground registration drive in barangays in the coming weeks.

Do note that families living in Quezon City should register individually. QC residents cannot also use a single QC E-Services account to register for multiple QCitizen IDs or use their relatives’ accounts.

Eligible applicants are residents or those who transact and do business with Quezon City,  age 15 years old and above and own a government-issued ID or barangay certificate.

The city will provide all citizens with a QCitizen ID number and digital ID, but only residents 15 years old and above will be given a free physical ID card. There will also be a digital version of the ID, which can be accessed through the QCitizen App for iOS and Android devices.

According to Mayor Belmonte, the ground registration will be piloted in Barangay Central on January 15.

The city government recently signed a tripartite agreement with the National Task Force Against COVID-19 and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals Philippines for the advance purchase of COVID-19 vaccines for its citizens.

For more information, visit the QCitizen ID FAQs page. Do note that QCitizen applicants will be subject to review and approval by QC officers. Successful applicants will be notified through their registered email.

Kaya nga may registration na ng national ID para mabawasan yung ganitong extra identifications tulad ng barangay at postal id di ba? Magkano naman tong QC ID na to? Isang ID na lang for the whole nation, pampakapal pa sa wallet to e.
