To address the heavy volume of inquiries about customs tax and duties, the Bureau of Customs has announced a mobile app to assist the general public.

The app called is BalikBayan Tax Calculator and it’s now available for free in the Google Play Store.

Basically, the app estimates the number of customs duties and taxes to pay for commonly sent items like cellphones, perfumes, jewelry, and more. Aside from that, the app also allows OFWs to track their balikbayan boxes plus provide common info about taxable, non-taxable, and prohibit items, and answer some FAQs.

The app is now available for download in the Play Store (download link) for Android while iOS users will have a to wait for a bit.

Bakit mag tatax pa? Yung binili yung mga ipapadala may tax na yan.double taxation na yan mga unggoy.

Yung logo at kulay. Ala dropbox. Kala ko nung nakita ko ang design ng app, may pinoy version na ang dropbox.

Bwisit na Henares yan. Hanggang ngayon kahit wala na siya, itatax pa rin yung balikbayan box? Pinagharapan ng OFW yan, tapos itatax? Konting tiis na lang, change is coming.
