Huawei MateBook X Pro Best Features

Huawei recently launched in the Philippines its latest ultrabook in the form of the MateBook X Pro. If you already own a Huawei smartphone, this is an excellent addition to the ecosystem, especially if you’re looking for something sleeker and more premium than the MateBook D 15. But if you’re still not sure if you should get one of these, then let us highlight its top features.

Lightweight and Uni-metal design

The design is one of the first things you appreciate about a device. In the case of the Huawei MateBook X Pro, there’s a lot to admire. There’s the sleek and portable design, measuring 14.6 mm thin and weighing 1.33 kg, so it’s easy to lug around or store in a bag.

We did mention that it’s premium, that is because of the metal chassis with machined edges. It has a sandblasted finish, which not only looks good but feels nice as well.

It comes in multiple colors as well to match your personality. We have the classic Space Grey and Mystic Silver. But if you want to stand out, the MateBook X Pro also comes in Emerald Green, which boasts a natural shade of dark green reminiscent of a lush forest. Your eyes won’t get tired of looking at it.

Fingerprint power button

Ready to use the MateBook X Pro? You can start by pressing that power button. How about security? Don’t worry, as the power button also has a built-in fingerprint sensor, making your device more secure but, at the same time, makes the identity authentication process faster and more convenient.

FullView Display

Ready to get to work? Even with the portable design, the MateBook X Pro can provide you with a 13.9-inch workspace with 3K (3000 x 2000) resolution at 260ppi. The 3: Ultra FullView display also boasts a 91% screen-to-body ratio, so you’re getting more screen and thinner bezels, 100% sRGB color space, 1500:1 contrast ratio, and 450 nits of peak brightness.

Also, the MateBook X Pro’s screen has 10-point touch support with multi-touch gesture support, so you can easily navigate the interface. And as for protection, it uses Corning Gorilla Glass with anti-fingerprint coating protection, so your screen looks clear even after a whole day of use.

Recessed Camera

You’ve seen its display, right? The bezel is so thin that you’re probably wondering where they placed the webcam. In the case of the MateBook X Pro, Huawei put it under a dedicated key on the keyboard. When you’re ready to use it, just press the key and it will pop-up. The design also serves as a security feature as you can be sure that no one can see you unless you want to—no need for special software, sticker, or gadget to hide your camera.

Quad Speakers

About to have a video conference with your team, or just want to relax and listen to your Spotify playlist, or watch a show on Netflix? You can hear them loud and clear thanks to the MateBook X Pro’s quad speakers and split frequency set-up.

Also, it has quad-microphones with intelligent noise reduction and 360-degree sound reception, meaning the MateBook X Pro can pick up your voice even if you’re 4 meters away.

Huawei share Multi-screen Collaboration

If you already own a Huawei smartphone, like the P40 series, you can already start enjoying the Huawei ecosystem with the MateBook X Pro. Like the smartphone, this ultrabook also features Huawei Share, so you can easily do drag-and-drop file transfers between devices. There’s also a shared clipboard, so you can copy text from one device and paste it on another. You can quickly transfer files between your phone and laptop wirelessly using Huawei Share OneHop. Just tap your Huawei smartphone’s NFC to the Matebook X Pro’s Huawei Share Icon, and you’re good to go.

Then there’s Multi-screen collaboration, which lets you access your smartphone’s Android interface within the MateBook X Pro and enhanced cross-platform support so you can initiate calls and read incoming phone notifications. You can just connect your Huawei smartphone to the MateBook X Pro and control two devices from only one. One scenario where this comes handy is when we’re doing our online banking. Since we receive OTPs via SMS, I can easily access that info without having to touch my phone, or when it’s charging from a distance. We can also easily access apps that are best viewed on mobile like Instagram or TikTok.

Powerful performance and battery life

If you want to use the MateBook X Pro as a workhorse, you can do so. It is powered by the 10th-gen Intel Core i7-10510U processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX 250 GPU, Intel UHD Graphics, up to 16GB LPDDR3 RAM, and up to 1TB PCIe SSD. That configuration means it can handle productivity tasks very well. And with that 3K display, it sure is an excellent piece of machine for things like video editing and 3D modeling.
