Question, how long or how much usually are the battery levels of phones when not yet sold and are just sitting in the store? Especially if phone model is a year or two old.

If the user is always surfing in internet or playing games in the phone, even 4000mAh battery won’t last for one day. My suggestion is so called phone last for one day if you use it in a moderate or rare way.
Having phone connected with internet or Wi-Fi always drain faster your battery. Also playing games use GPU in your mobile, which requires heavy processing from processor to give graphical visual to the user in game. It equally drain your battery as using in internet.

I have used Asus zenfone max, it gives good battery life but when I updated to the latest version I have been facing battery draining problems.
