Firefox 4 goes for gold!

Soon after Microsoft officially released IE9, Mozilla also made a major release with Firefox 4. Within a day, FF4 doubled IE9’s downloads at 7 million. Bus is that enough?

I downloaded FF4 a week ago on my Mac and then on my PC a few days ago when I got back.

The new FF4, while better in the back-end and a few more, did not have that very obvious face-lift compared to the previous version (the way IE9 had changed compared to IE8).

So I’ll just throw the question to those who have been using FF a lot — is it really better, is it faster, and what’s the coolest new additions you liked best?

Firefox is faster than its predecessor but very slow compared to the chrome, from start up to loading and rendering of pages..

Downloading and installing Mozilla Firefox 4 wasn’t a mistake!

I feel Safari-ish when I saw the UI, but still lagging when I tried to play a game here:

FF4 really seems faster than Chrome and IE9, but because it isn’t compatible yet with the plugins that I use for my work, I had to revert it to FF3.6. However, I am using IE9 now for my regular surfing.

Definitely better. Faster and less of a resource hog. In the office, the terminal I use runs XP. Firefox 3 and other previous versions hogs a lot of RAM after a while. Memory leak issues. Now with version 4, it is definitely faster. I also like the new interface.

I would have gone with Chrome a long time ago if it weren’t for some of the plugins/addons I use. Glad to see that this version is definitely an improvement. The best feature I like with this is Firefox sync. Now, I can access my tabs, history, bookmarks from my office PC anywhere, even on my Android phone, as long as you have Firefox mobile installed. :)
