HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro (46mm) Review

Listen to article

In this review we’re putting the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro (46mm) to the test. Not only does it promise 21-day battery life, lab-grade GNSS accuracy, and advanced sports features, it’s also positioned as a fashionable timepiece built with titanium and sapphire glass.

Spoiler? It’s the only fashionable smartwatch with 21-day battery life and all-round sports and health management in 2025.

Design and Durability

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro strikes a rare balance: thin and light, yet crafted from aerospace-grade titanium alloy, sapphire glass, and nanocrystal ceramics. HUAWEI goes further with triple protection: a nano-film coating that makes the entire body wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant, and scratch-proof.

The display is another win. It sports a 3000-nit AMOLED panel making it easy to read in direct sunlight, whether you’re running midday or diving into open water.

The HarmonyOS interface also gets upgraded with smoother animations and ease-of-use updates.

Durability-wise, it’s certified for 5ATM + IP68 and IP69, plus the EN13319 diving standard makes it reliable even for freediving. More on that later.

Compared to last year’s GT 5 Pro, the bezels are slimmer and the display has grown to 1.5 inches. You also get minute markers on the outer octagonal bezel and an embedded GMT bezel under the sapphire glass, small touches that elevate it as a timepiece fit for any collection.

GPS Accuracy Test

To put Huawei’s accuracy claims to the test, we ran a 1km measuring wheel test.

  • Run 1: Wheel 1.00 km – GT 6 Pro 1.01 km (1% error)

  • Run 2: Wheel 1.00 km – GT 6 Pro 0.99 km (1% error)

  • Run 3: Wheel 1.00 km – GT 6 Pro 1.00 km (0% error)

On average, the GT 6 Pro maintained ~0.6% error, meaning it’s very precise for a consumer smartwatch.

That’s thanks to the Sunflower Positioning System 2.0, a dual-band, six-satellite GNSS array that ensures signal reliability even in dense urban canyons or mountain trails. HUAWEI claims 20% better accuracy than before and in practice, it delivers.

We also get Running Form Analysis, which helps spot inefficiencies in our stride to reduce injury risk and improve pace, plus altitude alerts up to 2,500m for trail runners.

If you’re a runner, this is about as close as it gets to lab-grade GPS accuracy on your wrist.

Fitness Tracking

Fitness Tracking is where the GT 6 Pro flexes. We’ve highlighted key updates with this watch iteration for particular sports below.

Cycling

The GT 6 Pro debuts Cycling FTP (Functional Threshold Power) and the world’s first Cycling Virtual Power, giving accurate power output without needing an external meter.

It adds auto ride detection with smart pause at stoplights (or any pause for that matter), Team-Up mode for live group sharing, and Fall Detection 2.0 with SOS alerts. Battery endurance? Up to 40 hours of GPS cycling.

Trail Running

The GT 6 Pro shines with offline contour maps, GPX/KML imports, slope-corrected pace, and altitude-sickness alerts. It even estimates ETAs during segmented routes.

Freediving and Golf

For diving, Huawei gives 40m freediving mode with apnea training, hover timing, and buzzer alerts. Golfers get 15,000+ mapped courses worldwide, with panoramic hole layouts, wind data, and digital scoring.

So whether it’s running, cycling, diving, or golf, the Huawei WATCH GT 6 Pro has it all built-in natively.

Health Management

Just like last year, the GT 6 Pro also doubles as a powerful health companion.

It includes ECG with CE-certified arrhythmia detection, Arterial Stiffness Detection, and multi-metric Health Insights. The new Emotional Wellbeing tracker automatically detects 12 states (every 10 minutes) for a more accurate read.

Then my personal favorite in sleep tracking is still as good as ever. TruSleep 4.0 provides advanced sleep analysis like REM and deep sleep. It can track when we take naps and now features stress-relieving music playlists built in.

Battery

It’s no question that the battery department is where Huawei has always owned the entire smartwatch market.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro (46mm) lasts up to 21 days with typical use, 14 days with heavy use, and 40 hours with GPS cycling.

In real-world use we can easily say that it truly delivers in this aspect too.

Who Is the GT 6 Pro For?

In terms of smartwatch users, the HUAWEI WATCH GT 6 Pro (46mm) is the pick if you want  good looking smart timepiece that doesn’t compromise in  fitness and health metrics.

For traditional watch collectors, its titanium and sapphire build make it a smart timepiece worthy of any collection with the bonus of lab-grade sports and health tracking.
