Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb Preview

Google has re-designed the UI for Android 3.0 Honeycomb to make it more usable for tablet form factors (there are a ton of tablets being revealed this week at CES 2011). Check out the preview of how the Android 3.0 UI would look like.

If you’re thinking whether your recently bought Android tablet can be upgraded to Honeycomb, we don’t know either but recommended specs is said to be in the 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM of the handset might be enough. That means the Samsung Galaxy S might just be able to get the 3.0 update once it’s released.

  1. I hope my Samsung Spica can even be updated to Android 2.3 , super ganda ng UI e.

  2. a lot lot more coolest gadget revealed at CES this week,.. get ready for some fresh tech news today.

  3. But android 3.0 is specifically made for tablet only.. good thing i got a galaxy tab.. hopefully updates will be available soon for this tab.

  5. Tab user here, kinda worried that the hardware of the Tab is just enough to use Honeycomb :(

  6. Buti nalang hindi pa ako bumili. Sa regularizati0n ko bili ako ng DHD. Baka bumaba pa ang price nya within 1 month.

  8. @ebengto: wala ka din pambili nung 2010? hehehe ma swerte pa rin tayo.. hehehe outdated man sa gadgetz, updated naman sa latest info’s sa tech… through YUGATECH.. mula noon hanggang ngayon laging updated.

  11. @bhergs
Thanks for sharing the link. That is welcome news to Galaxy Tab users.

  12. This is the year of the Android.

  14. I do hope that the Galaxy Tab will be given a Honeycomb update. This update will surely be an added bonus, it would feel like buying a new gadget because of the new UI, plus the screen real estate would be maximized

Though it is not required to have dual cores to run 3.0, I certainly hope it wouldn’t be buggy or laggy when running with “minimum specs” only. I remember when I upgraded my Spica from 1.6 to 2.1 there were some noticeable lag in running some applications.

Net, I do hope Samsung doesn’t rest on it’s laurels and continue to support their products similar with what Apple is doing.

  15. Damn! I want an android tablet more than Ipad! :-D

(but then again, somebody might tell me, “Wait ’til you see Ipad 2”.) hehehehe

plus, they will release a new tablet at MWC ata.. which is 3.0

  17. Mivo el edo seco per kizo.Ona la pesa ?
