Motorola’s Atrix 4G goes to AT&T

Motorola and AT&T announced the 2nd generation Motorola Atrix 4G to be available on its network this quarter. Powered by a dual-core Tegra 2 processor, this handset also comes with a fingerprint sensor.

Motorola Atrix 4G
NVidia Tegra 2 AP20H 1.0GHz dual-core processor
4″ screen @ 540 x 960 pixels (Gorilla Glass display)
Biometric Fingerprint Reader
MotoBlur UI with Live Widgets
16GB internal storage
1024MB RAM
up to 32GB via microSD
HSDPA 14.4Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA
Bluetooth 2.1 w/ A2DP, EDR
5MP autofocus camera with LED Flash
720p HD video recording
GPS w/ aGPS support
FM Radio Tuner
Li-IOn 1930mAh battery
Android 2.2 Froyo

The handset can output and play 1080p full HD videos. I’ve already seen enterprise handsets from Motorola that came with fingerprint reader (read here).

By 2nd quarter, it will be released in Europe under the Motorola Atrix name (dropped the 4G). And while this unit is initially locked to AT&T, I’m sure we’ll be seeing gray market units by 2nd quarter over at GreenHills.

Upload some videos. The pictures alone don’t do this amazing phone any justice. Sh*t just got real.

@Abe, what I am curious about is, how much would the
“netbook type dock” this baby attaches to. I saw the demo @ CES that places this in a dock embedded in a netbook accessory and basically uses it for bigger display and access to a full blown keyboard.

Very exciting environment. This baby is blazing fast, I reckoned this is faster than an atom netbook.

    Keep the updates coming.

I am very much interested in getting this phone. We used to have a Moto store in MOA; however, it’s not there anymore. Where do i get this phone? and for how much?

I am deciding whether to get Atrix or an iPhone. I am more into the Atrix as almost everyone already has an iPhone.

Please let me know where i could get a hold of this phone.

@Malcoxx: The Dock that functions like a netbook will retail at around 500USD. Better get a netbook and a phone for that, since Motorola does not run a Windows OS or full blown desktop OS.

Lets wait and see on the Nokia/Windows Phone.
