With the announcement of the vivo X200 Series, the company also unveiled the latest Sony LYT-818 image sensor as part of the partnership between the two companies.

Together with Zeiss, vivo’s X200 Pro main camera features a 50MP Sony LYT-818 sensor, f/1.57, PDAF, OIS. Despite the rather smaller size of just 1/1.28″, the LYT-818 performed at par and did better in video capture compared to the 1-inch type Sony IMX989 sensor.

Here are some sample photos we took at the Great Wall of China here in Beijing on our first day of the tour.

Here are some sample video clips in 4K @ 60fps. The X200 Pro can also shoot videos at 4K @ 120fps.

On the last day of the event, we also toured the Summer Palace and had models posed for us as subject when taking sample portrait shots. The Summer Palace is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing. It was an imperial garden during the Qing dynasty.

Here are additional sample photos from the vivo X200 Pro:

We’re particularly impressed with the video quality of the main camera, esp. when shooting 4k @ 60fps. Also, low-light capabilities of the camera showed a lot of detail. The zoom macro shots are also very good and stable even at a distance, as shown in the sample below.
