Ookla: Smart is fastest mobile network, Globe most consistent for Q4 2022

Internet intelligence company, Ookla, has just released its Philippines Q4 Mobile Performance Report.

In its report, Ookla found that Smart delivered the fastest Median Download Speed among the top mobile service providers in the Philippines, with a median speed of 32.16 Mbps.

Globe came in second at 21.30 Mbps, while DITO clocked in at 17.66 Mbps.

In terms of Median Multi-Server Latency, Smart also registered the lowest figure at 47 ms. Latency is how the amount of time it takes for data to pass from one point on a network to another, meaning the lower latency, the better.

While Smart recorded the fastest median speeds, Globe had the best Consistency performance in Q4 2022 with 83.1% of results showing at least a 5 Mbps minimum download speed and 1 Mbps minimum upload speed.

The results of the report are based on data from Speedtest, a web service that provides free analysis of Internet access performance metrics.
