In its report, Ookla found that Smart delivered the fastest Median Download Speed among the top mobile service providers in the Philippines, with a median speed of 32.16 Mbps. In its latest update on internet speeds in the Philippines, Ookla noted improvements in both mobile and fixed broadband speeds. Ookla recently updated their Speedtest Global Index for February 2022 indicating the Philippines’ average mobile download speed at 18.79 Mbps, and average fixed broadband download speed at 49.10 Mbps. Ookla is the company behind Speedtest which comprises fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data, and analysis globally. Smart and PLDT are the Philippines' Speedtest Awards winners for the fastest 5G mobile and fixed broadband speed during Q3–Q4 2021, according to Ookla.
