Geminiのスプリットスクリーンマルチタスクが、一部の非折りたたみPixelモデルに展開されました

Googleは、Geminiの分割画面マルチタスク機能を折りたたみ式デバイスやタブレット以外にも静かに拡大し、特定の非折りたたみPixelデバイスにも導入しています。Pixel 8 と Pixel 8 Pro で最初に確認され、この機能はGoogleアプリのベータリリースに紐付いています。

Originally designed for larger-screen Android devices like the Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, and Samsung Galaxy Z series, this update now allows regular smartphones to run Gemini alongside another app. To activate it, users simply drag the Gemini bar upward while an app is open, and the screen will split in half. On foldables, the split can still be arranged side-by-side, but on standard phones, it stacks vertically.

現在、ロールアウトは限定的です。レポートによると、Pixel 10 Pro XL のような最新ハードウェアでもまだこの機能はなく、Pixel 6 Pro のような旧モデルはベータに登録しない限り待たされることになります。

AndroidはNougat（2016）からネイティブの分割画面を搭載していますが、GoogleとGeminiの統合により、マルチタスク用のより高速なショートカットが提供されます。Geminiとチャットしながらブラウジングしたり、アプリ間でタスクを管理したりする際、この小さな調整がPixelユーザーの日常的な分割画面利用をより魅力的にする可能性があります。
