The ‘Nothing’ (event): ‘The Truth’ turned out to be a mere spectacle teaser.

Former OnePlus exec Carl Pei led the Nothing (event) keynote yesterday teasing their upcoming smartphone debut in summer this year—sometime between now until end of September.
The start-up company named it the “Nothing phone (1)” and will be equipped with an undisclosed Snapdragon chip and will be based on Android with their own skin ‘Nothing OS’.
The Nothing OS on paper sounded a lot like OnePlus’s OxygenOS in its former glory that featured a bloat-free experience. Pei promised that the Nothing OS will have three years of Android updates, and four years of security updates.
Nothing also planned to release the Nothing OS launcher next month on “select smartphones.” That features the dot-matrix design approach to certain UI elements.

Aside from the ‘iconic design’ and the release of their launcher, nothing else is mentioned regarding the phone itself. We don’t even know yet what it looks, although fan renders show that it will have a transparent back panel giving a glimpse of the phone’s internals, that follows the Nothing ear (1) buds design.

Furthermore, Pei asserted that Nothing phone (1) will sit on an “open and seamless ecosystem that will effortlessly connect and integrate Nothing products and products from other world-leading brands.”
Pei noted that they are not an audio company and will push through to become a challenger to smartphone industry.
Nothing said that they have over 10 million USD investments available to date and encourages more investors thru their community rounds.
