Apart from the 5-inch Zenfone 5 and the 6-inch Zenfone 6, ASUS is reported to launch a new Zenfone that sits in between the two mentioned handsets. The new 5.5-inch Zenfone, along with other Zenfone devices, are said to be introduced early next year.
The Zenfone lineup quickly gained popularity here in the Philippines with its admirable balance of performance and price. So far, The Zenfones are powered by Intel’s processor coupled by useful features like USB OTG support. They are also running the latest Android KitKat which makes them very competitive handsets. According to reports, the new 5.5-inch variant will be making its debut this coming January over at CES. Unfortunately, there are no specifications that came with the report but we’re confident that it will continue being affordable while sporting decent internals.
Is the 5-inch Zenfone too small or the Zenfone 6 too big? The 5.5-inch variant should be just right, then! Stay tuned as we gather more details.

upgrading your zenfone 5 to kitkat have lots of issues like keyboard not working. Try google search zenfone 5 after upgrading to kitkat. It is recommended not to update for now.
I says:
Zenfone 5 downsides: battery life too short (at least 2500mah would have been ok), heating issue,(intel is king in desktops not in smartphones), somewhat slow charging, small body display ratio, non-removable battery (defective battery means you cant use the phone). Value for money? Yes, but just add a few peso and you get a more balanced phone, imo.
