HONOR X70 announced with massive 8,300mAh battery

Listen to article

The HONOR X70 has been officially announced as a new entry in the X-series line. It features one of the largest batteries packed in a slim smartphone form factor.

It has an 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, yet maintains a thickness of only 7.8 to 8.0mm. This is comparable to many devices with smaller 5,000mAh cells. All variants support 80W wired fast charging, while the 512GB model adds 80W wireless charging support.

Display-wise, it features a 6.79-inch 1.2K AMOLED screen, 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 6,000 nits. Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

For cameras, the rear module houses a 50MP main sensor with OIS, while the front has an 8MP selfie camera. No telephoto or ultra-wide cameras are included.

Durability is another highlight. The HONOR X70 is rated IP66, IP68, and IP69 for dust and water resistance. The company claims it can withstand 85°C water, 4 hours of salt spray, and depths of up to 6 meters.

The HONOR X70 is now available for pre-order in China and will launch on July 18. It runs on MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15 out of the box. Prices start at CNY 1,399 (~PHP 11,100) for the 8GB/128GB model. Philippine pricing and availability has yet to be announced.
