So what’s changed between the P30 Lite and the P20 Lite?

  • Larger display
  • 3D curved glass
  • Better performing CPU
  • Better performing GPU
  • Larger RAM
  • Larger maximum expandable storage
  • Higher main rear camera resolution
  • Wider main rear camera aperture
  • Wide-angle lens
  • Higher front camera resolution
  • Wi-Fi ac
  • Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box
  • Longer-lasting battery life

The advantages are looking good overall. Not only that the P30 Lite has a larger screen, but its aspect ratio is taller than the P20 Lite. This kind of set up is better if you are fond of watching or streaming videos.

For performance, the P30 Lite got a significant boost as compared to the P20 Lite in terms of both CPU speed and gaming. In the AnTuTu benchmark score, the former received a 101K rating while the latter only got 87K. If the Kirin 659 can handle moderate to heavy graphics games, how much more with the Kirin 710? Not to mention, the 6GB RAM is way better than just 4GB.

The most significant change here would be the cameras, as the P30 Lite sports a triple rear lens setup that comes with a higher main resolution while the front shooter is twice the P20 Lite’s megapixel value. Since both of them come from Huawei, we can safely assume that the image quality of the former is better than the latter. Check out our sample shots here for the P30 Lite and the P20 Lite.

Lastly, the P30 Lite carries a larger battery capacity and thanks to the PC Mark battery test and our very own video loop test; we found that it lasts longer than the P20 Lite by a significant amount of time.

If you are a P20 Lite user and you are planning on upgrading to the P30 Lite, then I’d recommend that you do it. Not only it provides a better viewing experience, but increased performance as well. Aside from that, its cameras are more impressive which provides better photos.

The Huawei P30 Lite is priced at PHP 16,990 while the P20 Lite has a price of PHP 9,990. What do you guys think? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
