Lenovo A800 in the flesh, priced at Php6,999

Lenovo Mobile Philippines will be introducing a couple new affordable Android handsets later this month. One of them is this 4.5-inch, dual-SIM Lenovo A800.

Lenovo Mobile has have fairly successful in introducing handsets last year, especially ones with really unique selling points. This year, they might continue to offer more of the same but it looks like this A800 is gunning for affordability.

With the Lenovo A800, you are looking at a large IPS display, a dual-core chip with a dual-SIM feature — all for just Php6,999. Not bad actually.

Lenovo A800 specs:
4.5-inch IPS LCD display @ 480×854 pixels, 218ppi
Mediatek MTK 6577T 1.2GHz dual-core Cortex-A9
PowerVR SGX531
512MB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD
dual-SIM, dual-standy
3G/HSDPA
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 4.0 w/ A2DP
GPS w/ aGPS support
5MP rear camera, 720p video
Android 4.0.4 ICS
Li-Ion 2000mAh battery

The handset itself looks pretty decent, just a little chunkier at 11.5mm and the large display lacks enough pixel density. There’s also no front-facing camera. It comes in two variants — a white one and the black one.

The whole package looks appealing, as well as the price. Watch out for our final review soon (Lenovo has not yet formally launched these but they are looking to do it before end of the month).

  1. like all the other lenovo phones. no cmamera flash. BUMMER

  2. San pwede mabili to? nice spec for the price.

  3. definitely cheaper than other lenovos like the p700i, but is is better than the p700i???

  4. Nabasa ko na may bugs daw ito sa review ng gsm arena. Di daw lumalabas yung names pag may nag txt o call, numero lang…. How true kaya ito??.

  5. aw sayang naman walang flash at front camera, sana naka jellybean na rin

  6. Paano mo gagamitin ito ng video call sa skype, viber eh walang front camera. Flare nlang if wala maski MP A919 na lang.

    • maski MP A919? haha. MP A919 is better than Flare..

  7. this vs Cherry mobile Flare? not sure if 500mah difference sa battery is worth the 3k price difference ? :)

you paid for the brand I guess

  8. Check nyo Kata i1… Walang sinabi sa spec nyan at the price of 8500, in sm ang robinson OWTEL shop…

  9. A good price for a 4.5inch! decent na ha…. tempting! :)

  10. P700i is better due to higher RAM 1Gig compared to A800’s 512MB. P700i’s battery is also higher, 2500mah compared to A800’s 2000mah (both are still higher compared to most brands (average is around 1500mah. The A800 has a larger screen though. But remember, the bigger the screen the more it consumes your battery. again still the missing flash and noisy shuttersound is a downer. but most specs are very good. It still gives more bang to your buck. Quality/Durability and brand-wise, I would trust Lenovo than Cherry or Myphone. Lenovo has been in the computer industry for a long while now, they’re just starting out in the mobile industry, that’s why they lower the price for the higher specs to be competitive. And also lenovo uses Lithium Ion batteries rather than Lipoly, which means more energy capacity but cheaper to make.

I suggest you guys take a look at P770. now that’s definitely to look forward to. 3500Mah batt (that’s 3 times higher than iphone’s batt cap) and it also has 5mp cam with LED flash. 1gig ram and jellybean. and of course the dual sim.

  11. @julz

p700i has 512 mb ram only.

yes, watch out for lenovo p770, very powerful and best feature is its supported with usb otg. almost anything you can connect to p770 as long as you have a usb otg cord.

  12. antagal naman lumabas.. nakahanda na ang pera ko…

  13. im planning to buy the lenovoA800 but i want something that is not dual-sim..im hoping they would produce lenovo A800 single-sim with camera flash for the same price… but i still like it
