A few months ago, the Lenovo S920 arrived in Philippine shores for a price below the 20k mark. It offered a huge 5.3-inch IPS HD display, a quad-core CPU, 1GB RAM & more in a body measuring at only 7.9mm. A unit just passed through our office recently, so read on to see our first impressions.
At first glance, the Lenovo S920 did remind us a lot of the HTC One X. There’s the 5.3-inch display with thin bezels on the sides, capacitive buttons right at the bottom and the brand logo above the display. The rest of the body is covered in white, and while it is made out of plastic, it feels a lot sturdier than other phones.
The camera on the back is reminiscent of the HTC One X too as the lens is surrounded by a chrome-colored ring. It packs an 8-megapixel camera by the way, and while we’re yet to test it thoroughly, we managed to take a few shots and glad to say, it’s far from disappointing.
Lenovo’s skin on top of Android 4.2 still looks very cartoonish, but you can easily remedy that with a launcher. The CPU bundled with the 1GB RAM inside enabled the S920 to breeze through basic navigation & tasks.

I wish we had a little more time to spend with the Lenovo S920. In our short experience with it, we were very pleased with what it can offer.
Right now, it’s priced at around Php16,999USD 290INR 24,557EUR 276CNY 2,110 which may be quite hard to justify for some, but if you’re looking for something jam-packed in a thin yet solid form factor, you may want to consider the S920.

Wutdefukk for that price you can already buy a SAMSUNG GS3!?
are they freaking serious?
hithit pa ng marijuana at shabu LENOVO!
Jesson says:
That was cool stuff, I using lenovo notebook before till now but I never with there mobile phone. But with that price I think it promise something
coppelion says:
Specs are a bit mediocre for the asking price. The quad-core MediaTek only looks good on paper because its performance is not even on par of those other quad-core processors out there. It’s even more ridiculous that similarly spec’d phones from other brands retails at a much lower price.
I agree with @abuzalzal that anyone who has a budget of 16,000 should just go get the bit-outdated yet solid performer Samsung Galaxy S3. Talk about bang for the buck.

@abuzalzal – im thinking to buy a new phone, but can’t decide between LG G2 and note 3.
Ano mas recommended mo and why? Thanks!
abuzalzal says:
The G2 is the better buy *IF* you can find the 32 gb variant
Amoled technology is still flawed (or shall we say, not yet perfected), poor visibility outdoors, not as sharp as the LG tsaka prone siya sa display burn-in are among its drawbacks
Bakit ako nage-emphasize sa screen? dahil dito ka titingin 99 percent of the time
Mas marami ang ”CONS” ng AMOLED kesa iPS (IMO)
That being said, mas lamang ang SAMSUNG sa OS/software support (given their track record)

I’m sure meron na namang mga buwitre at hyenas dito na kokontra sa sinabi ko….OPINYON ko yun OK? What I prefer doesn’t necessarily reflect what the majority prefer (and vice-versa)
Abdul Jakul says:
they should atleast lower the price.. the specs isn’t that impressive..

below P14500 ito sa cmk. Lenovo is the next samsung bwahahaha
HNSCC says:
The CPU benchmark is close to SGS3. Decent specs but I won’t recommend it due to three reasons: 1) 4GB internal memory (you’re left w/ a little over 2GB out of the box. Huge games consume 1GB), 2) 2550 mAH battery is probably small for a 5.3 display 3) price (poor cost:benefit ratio)
