Earlier today, LG Philippines launched the LG Optimus Vu Android smartphone, boasting a 5-inch IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

The LG Optimus Vu smartphone boasts a NVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear camera with 1.3 megapixel HD front-facing and runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. It also comes with a stylus so you can take advantage of its Quick Memo feature.
What separates the Optimus Vu from other phablets is its 5-inch IPS display (1024 x 768) that has an aspect ratio of 4:3. The result is a smartphone that has a squarish look instead of a rectangular one. Although the Vu sports a wider form, it is light at 168g and maintains a thin profile at 8.5mm – lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Take a look at our quick hands-on below:
