LG launches Optimus Vu, priced at Php27,990

Listen to article

Earlier today, LG Philippines launched the LG Optimus Vu Android smartphone, boasting a 5-inch IPS display with a 4:3 aspect ratio.

The LG Optimus Vu smartphone boasts a NVidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear camera with 1.3 megapixel HD front-facing and runs Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich. It also comes with a stylus so you can take advantage of its Quick Memo feature.

What separates the Optimus Vu from other phablets is its 5-inch IPS display (1024 x 768) that has an aspect ratio of 4:3. The result is a smartphone that has a squarish look instead of a rectangular one. Although the Vu sports a wider form, it is light at 168g and maintains a thin profile at 8.5mm – lighter and thinner than the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Take a look at our quick hands-on below:

LG Optimus Vu specs:
1.5GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 Quad Core
5″ 4:3 Ratio IPS Display (650 nit)
1GB RAM
32GB internal storage
8MP with AF
1.3MP HD Front
WiFi Direct, GPS, NFC
HSPA+ 21Mbps
2080mAh battery
139.6 x 90.4 x 8.5 mm
168g
Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich

The LG Optimus Vu is now available in all LG Mobile Concept Stores nationwide with a suggested retail price of Php27,990.

Very good specs but the external design is really really ugly. Too sad :(

For P28k, I was expecting it to come with 2GB of RAM, just like its closest competitor, the Note II.
