MediaTek has officially announced the Dimensity 9400+ as its latest flagship chipset.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ (3nm) uses an “All Big Core” CPU setup, combining one high-performance Cortex-X925 core clocked at 3.73GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores.

That’s slightly faster than last year’s Dimensity 9400 clocked at up to 3.63GHz.

Gaming performance gets a bump as well, with a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU. It brings features typically seen in PC graphics, such as detailed texture rendering and improved frame rates. MediaTek’s Frame Rate Converter 2.0+ can double the frame rate while cutting power use by up to 40%.

For AI, the chip is equipped with the updated MediaTek NPU 890. It supports on-device large language models and includes features like Speculative Decoding+, which speeds up AI tasks by up to 20%.

MediaTek also added what it calls the “Dimensity Agentic AI Engine” to help developers create more advanced AI systems.

The chip’s image processor (ISP), Imagiq 1090, brings HDR video support across all zoom levels and a new “Smooth Zoom” feature to help keep subjects steady while filming. This is the same ISP used on the regular Dimensity 9400 from last year.

OPPO is among the first to use the Dimensity 9400+ in its new Find X8s and Find X8s+ models, which have already made their release in China.
