Opera VPN for mobile discontinued

Opera permanently closed the doors to their VPN mobile app, aptly called Opera VPN, today. Although, they did not leave their premium and basic users hanging as they gave something in return for the closure.

Opera Gold users are entitled to a free 1-year subscription to SurfEasy Ultra VPN while basic users can redeem an 80% discount on the SurfEasy Total VPN app, which can be done via the latest version of the Opera VPN mobile app. SurfEasy started way back in 2011 and Opera is confident that their users are in capable hands.
