So what’s different between them?
Let’s start with their branding. The Redmi Note 7 drops the Xiaomi name by becoming a sub-brand just like with the Pocophone (see our report here). So you can basically say that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is the last smartphone that will be named under the Xiaomi brand.
Going with its specs, the Redmi Note 7 comes with a better display configuration than the Redmi Note 6 Pro, especially with its Corning Gorilla Glass version. For this aspect, both smartphones deliver great viewing experiences but the former has the upper-hand here.
In terms of overall performance, the Redmi Note 7 is better with its Snapdragon 660 chipset. This also means that its gaming capability is more superior than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, not to mention that it has a 6GB RAM variant.
Now the camera configuration of the Redmi Note 7 is the main reason why the people are very shocked but there’s actually a twist in this. The 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor is basically an interpolated 12MP one.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 20MP front camera which is higher than the Redmi Note 7 so I suggest that users can go with the former when it comes to selfie capabilities.
In terms of battery capacity, both smartphones have the same mAh but the Redmi Note 7 comes with a QuickCharge 4.0 fast charging technology.
Here are the prices of each smartphone:

Overall, it is evident that the Redmi Note 7 has the upper hand. The only advantage that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is its selfie capabilities, therefore, if you’re using one right now, then the Redmi Note 7 is a good upgrade especially with its more affordable price (based on converted price). We hope that it could maintain that aggressive pricing when it lands in the Philippines.
