Summary of advantages
Samsung Galaxy C5:
- Super AMOLED display
- Slightly brighter camera lens
- NFC
- Thinner body
ASUS Zenfone 3:
- Faster processor
- Better GPU
- Optical image stabilization
- USB Type-C
Both the Galaxy C5 and Zenfone 3 have their own advantages. With the Galaxy C5, you’re getting a more favorable Super AMOLED display over an LCD panel. It also got a slightly brighter lens, both front and back, at f/1.9 aperture which should be able to capture more light. There’s also NFC on board with support for wireless payments and you’re getting a slim, nicely crafted aluminum body.
As for the Zenfone 3, it’s got more processing power with a Snapdragon 625 and also a better Adreno 506 GPU. The camera is more suited for video recording thanks to its 3-axis OIS for more stable clips. And lastly, its uses the reversible USB Type-C port for charging and data connectivity.
The design of the handsets is a matter of preference. If you find a glass body beautiful on a phone, then the Zenfone 3 is there for you but if you’re clumsy and prefer the cold touch of aluminum, then go for the Galaxy C5.
The Samsung Galaxy C5 is currently being sold in the country by Widget City for either Php17,990 (32GB) or Php19,990 (64GB) (see listing here). The ASUS Zenfone 3, on the other hand, is yet available for purchase but it will soon be starting at an estimated price of Php12k when converted.

i don’t think it would be a fair comparison if their prices are that much different. 18k at widget city? so meaning 22-25k mall price. it’s not even in the same league as the zenfone 3. even if not really a fan of zenfone’s new design (parang generic na lang) the zenfone 3 is the clear no-brainer winner here.
