Starmobile Diamond V7: 5.7″ Quad-core, 18MP camera

Listen to article

Aside from the Starmobile Knight which we revealed earlier, the phone company has another bigger handset to reveal today that comes with a pair of 18-megapixel and 8-megapixel camera — the Starmobile Diamond V7.

We got an exclusive access to the promotional materials for the Starmobile Diamond V7.

Here’s the complete hardware configuration:

Starmobile Diamond V7 specs:
5.7-inch HD display @ 720×1280 pixels, 257ppi
Asahi Dragontrail Glass
MediaTek MT6589 1.2GHz quad-core processor
PowerVR SGX544MP
1GB RAM
4GB internal storage
up to 32GB via microSD card
3G/HSPA up to 7.2Mbps
Dual-SIM, dual standby
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.0
18MP AF BSI rear camera with dual-LED flash
1080p video recording @ 30fps
8MP AF BSI front-facing
1080p video recording @ 30fps
GPS w/ aGPS support
Android 4.2 Jellybean
Li-ion 2,600mAh battery

It’s pretty interesting to note that this model is strikingly similar to the i-mobile IQ 9 (based in Thailand). In which case, we find it noteworthy to mention the very thin dimensions (161 x 82 x 8.9mm) of the device.

More on the Starmobile Diamond V7 later today during our live coverage.

1GB RAM and 4GM internal storage? Are you kidding me? They should call it Silver V7 instead. Definitely not worthy of the name diamond.

Hmmm… yep… pretty much an iq 9… I have one that I bought sa Thailand… Just realized though na sobrang laki niya pero so far, I think it’s the best yet… Camera (despite the 18MP/8MP reso) isn’t really that cool…

LE
leon · 13 years ago

@chacha – gago!

AB
abuzalzal · 13 years ago

@leon

but the manufacturing process is in Shenzen…does that make any difference at all?

LE
leon · 13 years ago

@abu

AB
abuzalzal · 13 years ago

leon

But that doesn’t warrant that it is a more ”durable” or prestigious device since ANYBODY can just fly to the U.S., put up some small office there as their base headquartersm, pay their taxes then throw their 99.9 percent of manpower in CHINA.

I don’t buy this BS marketing gimmick American-designed crap…that doesn’t make them special…pare pareho lang naman yan

LE
leon · 13 years ago

quality is subjective, never said anything about it being more durable. just stating a fact that O+ is a legit brand on its own, like alcatel and lenovo which does not rely on pre assembled ODM phones and slapping their brand on it? gets?
