Starmobile reveals Diamond X1 specs

Starmobile is at it again. This time they’ve given the crowd something more to look forward to by providing more information about their upcoming flagship handset dubbed as the Diamond X1.

If you’re just tuning in, Starmobile gave a sneak-peek at the Diamond X1’s feature set which consists of a 6-inch IPS display and a Mediatek Octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM.

Starmobile Diamond X1

After doing some research, we’ve predicted that SM’s new smartphone could be a rebranded Intex Aqua i17. And as it turns out, Louie was spot on with his hunch.

Starmobile Diamond X1 specs:
6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, 245ppi
Scratch-resistant coating
1.7GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6592 CPU
Mali 450MP4 GPU
2GB RAM
Expandable 8GB internal storage (up to 64GB)
18MP BSI auto focus camera with LED Flash
8MP BSI front-facing camera
Dual-SIM, dual standby
3G/HSPA+
WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
Bluetooth
GPS w/ aGPS support
FM Radio
2x Yamaha 1420 speakers w/ 1.2W output
Android 4.2.2 Jellybean
Black, White

One of the things that sparked a controversy was the underwhelming battery pack found in the Aqua i17. Starmobile didn’t specify the Diamond X1’s power source, but if the Aqua i17’s is to be believed, then Diamond X1’s 2300mAh power source may just very well be its Achilles’ heel.

Another thing that Starmobile didn’t disclose was the price. But we don’t have to wait too long to find that out because the Diamond X1 is slated to make its official debut this month.

  2. Ayaw pa i-reveal yung price? haha
    Baka ulanin ng ”booo”? lol

  3. WTF is a microsim? Nagbebenta ba ng ganyan ang mga telcos? Paano kung di micro mga simcards mo?

    • Lool huwag mag-panic

madali lang gupitin yan out of a ”regular” sim

    • What I mean is mahirap maghanap ng microsim.

  4. Sayang yung screen.. 8gb internal lang.. THL T200 padin aketch.. ????

    • Expandable siya through microSD card, up to 64GB.

Please check your facts before posting them.
16gb po rom nung i17, pero yung diamond x1 8gb lang. Siguro po gusto nila masundan yung “8” lahat tulad nung nasa picture.
Specs wise it would be better kung thl product na lang bilhin niyo.

    • Thanks for spotting the typo. Already corrected. Also check the first article regarding the X1 and look for this part – “So some of the specs listed above may differ from the actual Diamond X1.”

  6. Another tech blog found that 2300mAh is enough for an octa-core, it seems (THL T100) and the phone even has a 1080p screen vs the 720p screen of this phone.

However, I expect Starmobile to price this at around 15-16k. Big fail. You’d be better off with the aforementioned THL.

  9. Don’t get your hopes too high. The release date is not an official date. STARMOBILE has this antic since SM-Knight. Full of B/S. The media leak in April2013, Launch date on June 2013, Release date august2013. October2013 reached the shores of cagayan de oro.?

It’s just a lame marketing ploy. They just want to build a hype. I bet my neck that it’d be released on February 3, 2014 nationwide and on shelves.?

STARMOBILE is a great company in playing waiting game for new products. But sucks in terms of product logistics and availability.
