OnePlus is gearing up to release a new upper-midrange smartphone, potentially named the OnePlus Ace 5V or Ace 5S, succeeding last year’s Ace 3V. This upcoming device is expected to feature a 6.83-inch “1.5K” LTPS OLED flat display with a 120Hz refresh rate, delivering vibrant visuals and smooth scrolling.

Under the hood, the smartphone will reportedly be powered by MediaTek’s forthcoming Dimensity 9400+ chipset, promising robust performance for both daily tasks and intensive applications. The main camera setup is anticipated to include a 50-megapixel sensor, although it may lack a dedicated telephoto lens. The rear design is described as “simple,” though specific details remain undisclosed.
A notable change is the introduction of OnePlus’ new button, which is set to replace the traditional Alert Slider. Battery specifications are yet to be finalized, with possibilities ranging from a 7,500mAh capacity supporting 80W wired charging to a slightly smaller battery with 100W charging capabilities. This indicates that OnePlus is weighing the benefits of faster charging against longer battery life.
While an official launch date has not been announced, the timing suggests that an unveiling could occur within the next few weeks, aligning with the one-year anniversary of its predecessor.
For reference, the OnePlus Nord 3, launched in July 2024, featured a 6.74-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 processor, and a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera. This context highlights OnePlus’ commitment to offering high-quality displays and powerful processors in its mid-range lineup.
Stay tuned for more updates as OnePlus prepares to officially announce this new addition to their smartphone lineup.
