Agoda launches platform for quarantine package bookings in the Philippines

Agoda has revealed that it becomes the first to launch a platform for quarantine package bookings in the Philippines. Through Agoda’s digital travel platform, Filipinos may now book quarantine accommodation packages at over 120 hotels in the country.

According to Agoda, it has automated the booking process for those traveling to and within the Philippines bringing benefits to both participating hoteliers and travelers, by simplifying the search and booking process in one platform.

As per the company, the Agoda Quarantine Packages in the Philippines comply with the requirements of the Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) and provide access to accommodations accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT) for frontliners and COVID-19 positive patients in isolation, as well as hotels for inbound guests to fulfill mandatory quarantine period. In addition, Agoda Quarantine Package options include airport transfer and all meals of the day.

Through this, travelers may easily select from quarantine properties on the platform including those in Manila, Cebu Angeles, Batangas, and Cavite.

With more than 120 hotels to choose from, inbound Filipinos and inter-bubble domestic travelers who are required to complete a mandatory 14-day quarantine (with the first 10 days completed in a quarantine facility and the remainder to be fulfilled at home), as well as people who would like to self-isolate to protect their families, will be able to search for and book DOT-approved quarantine properties via a dedicated booking platform. The dedicated link allows travelers to search availability, room type, and pricing in real-time.

Moreover, quarantine hotel package bookings are required as part of the process to obtain approval from Philippine embassies as well as compliance with airline requirements before booking their trip.

“Whether you are travelling back home or isolating to protect your family, we are able to offer an easy, convenient way to search and compare quarantine packages,” said Enric Casals, Agoda Regional Director of Southeast Asia and Oceania.

“Using our technology, we are able make the quarantine experience accessible to travelers, complying with local authority requirements. Through collaboration with our partners, governments, and tourism authorities, we aim to deliver solutions that help the travelling public to cost-effectively and safely return home,” Casals added.

The digital booking platform for Agoda Quarantine Packages is now available with more property options expected to join the program in the coming months.

Meanwhile, Agoda has introduced pandemic-friendly products like GoLocal, HygienePlus, and EasyCancel in 2020.
