Apple is reportedly gearing up to launch a new model of its AirPods Pro 2nd Gen with a USB-C charging port by the second half of the year.
The report comes from the highly renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo replying to a tweet with reference to AirPods model numbers A3048 and A2968 for its case.
He says that mass shipments USB-C version of the AirPods Pro (2nd Gen) is expected sometime between Q2-Q3 2023.
Although he mentioned as well that Apple currently has no plans to bring USB-C to the non-pro AirPods 2 and 3.
I think this is likely the USB-C version of the AirPods Pro 2, with mass shipments expected in 2Q23-3Q23. By the way, Apple currently appears to have no plans for USB-C versions of the AirPods 2 & 3.
我覺得這應該是AirPods Pro… https://t.co/aWKJvGh1lW

This would be an interesting move since the 2nd generation AirPods Pro was just recently released last September 2022 together with their latest iPhone 14 lineup.
Moreover, this could also lend to reports of the next generation iPhone 15 phones coming with USB-C.
