Apple has launched a new app called Invites, which is essentially for creating events and sharing custom invites. As per checking though, making an event is only available for iCloud+ subscribers.

Invites starts with allowing users to upload a custom background image from the photo gallery for the event. There’s also the app’s dedicated gallery that comes with stock images.

The app also integrates with Apple Maps for the guests’ directions and Weather. Once a location has been added to the invite, users can just tap it to get directions.

Users may opt to use a shared album. Invited users can use this to upload images for the event as a dedicated dump. It’s nice as a recap feature, reliving the event through different eyes. There’s also a shared playlist that works as a soundtrack or theme for the event.

Invites also work well with Apple Intelligence to develop original images using prompts and people from the photo library. It also offers writing tools for helping write-ups and copy for the invite.
Notably, guests can RSVP to your events without having an Apple ID or a subscription to iCloud+. Users may also make invites for virtual events and track the status of the invites. This includes who has RSVP’d and who hasn’t.
Invites can be shared on social media like Facebook, Instagram, or X as well. Wrapping up, Invites is available for iPhones running iOS 18 or later. This can be downloaded for free on the App Store.
